SG Exclusive: ASICS x Limited EDT x SBTG GEL-LYTE III “Monsoon Patrol II”
Following up on a collaboration which dates as far back as 2018, ASICS continues its partnership with Limited EDT and SBTG, to present another highly exclusive edition of GEL-LYTE III “Monsoon Patrol II” sneakers. The design inspired by the tempestuous monsoon seasons of Singapore, which was first released in a green colorway, offset by hints of camouflage and light brown suede paneling, was revered for its unique ability to withstand harsh conditions with a removable nylon tongue cover, strapped on to the shoe’s upper using a gutter hook system.
Debuting alongside a full Monsoon-ready capsule, which included a dry bag, umbrella and jacket, the highly coveted design has since seen at least two other customizations in a brighter-toned “Lichen Green/Piedmont Grey” and exclusive “Black/Black” colorway. Featuring a combination of a quilted leather toe-box, “Monsoon Patrol”-branded lace shroud on its mid-panel, and smooth suede elements, the updated GEL-LYTE III “Monsoon Patrol II” sneakers are characterized by metal lace locks and a bright orange rope lacing system that weaves over the shoe’s entire upper, coming to a drawcord-equipped point at the heel.
Offering a mere 72 out of the 300 pairs produced, the all-black variation is currently available in Singapore only, and will be sold exclusively to owners of the original of GEL-LYTE III “Monsoon Patrol II” that retained their coded dog tag. Furthermore, enthusiasts who purchased the first colorway will also receive the opportunity to find a “Golden Card” hidden in the shoebox, which will qualify each successful customer to win both the “Black/Black” pair, worth $249 SGD ($190 USD), and original 2018 collaboration sneaker.
Worth an estimated $209 SGD ($158 USD), the all-new “Lichen Green/Piedmont Grey” GEL-LYTE III “Monsoon Patrol II”, alongside a variety of Monsoon-themed accessories are currently available online for all.
