On Newsstands: WOW Thailand “Renewal 2020” Issue

Bangkok, 2 September 2020 — For the 24th issue in Thailand, World of Watches proposes visually uplifting content that thrills and excites. It is intended as an antidote for the gloom brought on by the necessary lockdowns in earlier months of the year.

“Since our first year, the September issue of World of Watches Thailand was reserved for a history-oriented theme. This year will be different. Given the fact that we all have just emerged from initial pandemic stress and the partial lockdown, the Renewal theme of this issue will be more refreshing,” recalls Editor-in-Chief Ruckdee Chotjinda.

Appearing on the cover is the CHANEL J12 X-Ray: an amazing timepiece reimagined in sapphire crystal to celebrate the collection’s 20th anniversary. A feature article is dedicated to historic watch designs that have evolved nicely to stay relevant with the times – the modern reinterpretations are shown side by side with the originals for the sake of comparison.

Also gracing this issue is another modern-day classic, the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue, shot in situ on a retired battleship. The overall mood is quite lively and uplifting indeed.

“The past has shown that the watch industry never ceased to advance, despite the circumstances. We, too, should stay positive, make the most out of resources still available to us, and strive for the best version of tomorrow possible,” concludes Ruckdee.
